Centrally located in the heart of the Niagara Region with beautiful rolling hills and a quaint small-town feel, Fonthill is truly a place that I am proud to call home. My husband and I are coming up on our four-year anniversary of being residents of Fonthill. We have loved every minute of living here! This pretty little town is well known for its sense of community, a slower paced lifestyle, great schools, excellent restaurants, prestigious golf courses, as well as a multitude of greenspaces, parks, and trails. Pride of ownership is apparent, it’s no secret that the residents here put a lot of care into the maintenance of their properties. This lovely town is complimented by many wonderful businesses and destinations that I have grown to love over the years. Here are some of the main highlights that I would love to have the opportunity to share with you:

Favourite Restaurants

Young’s Thai Cuisine – 12 Hwy 20 E, Fonthill
If you know me, you’ll know my go-to for takeout is Thai food. Almost every team lunch at the Fonthill office has involved an order of Thai. Young’s Thai has always been consistent and an option that I thoroughly enjoy! My order? Panang curry with chicken – yum!

Domenic’s on 20 – 219 Hwy 20 E, Fonthill
The 272 Google reviews don’t lie, Domenic’s is certainly a staple here in town! My Sunday mornings wouldn’t be complete without them, I can barely wait to meet clients and colleagues here again. I highly recommend the bacon & cheese omelette with a side of rye toast.

The Pelham Street Grille – 1507 Pelham Street, Fonthill
A wonderful family restaurant – the portions are large and the food is always delicious! This spot has been a favourite of mine over the past few years. Their homemade jam is lovely and completes your breakfast perfectly. The menu is quite expansive and offers tons of options. My lunch order? The beef melt (no onions – of course) and a side salad with balsamic.

Mossimo’s – 164 RR 20, Fonthill
Honourable mention: Throwing this on the list because who could forget my old stompin’ grounds – my first-ever serving job was at Mossimo’s. I learned a lot working here and built many friendships that I still value to this day. Everything on the menu is great, you can’t go wrong with a pizza from Moss!

Favourite Places to Visit

Sherwood Farm – 2310 Cream Street, Pelham
Of course, I needed to include Miss. Peanut’s home on this list. When I’m not busy working, you can find me spending time with my favourite girl at Sherwood. This farm has truly been a dream come true for Peanut and us. The care is incredible, the facilities are top-notch, and all the staff and boarders are lovely. If you’re into horses check them out, it’s the place to be!

Can-View Drive-In – 1956 RR 20, Fonthill
There is something to be said about the experience of attending the drive-in! We are so lucky to have such a gem right here in Fonthill. In the summer of 2019, we hosted our end of summer client appreciation event here and are looking forward to in years to come. Catching a movie at Can-View definitely has to be on your bucket list each summer.

Rooted Hair Studio – 792 Canboro Road, Fenwick
A special shout out to my favourite hairstylist in all of Niagara, Karlee Boersma of Rooted Hair Studio! Having been a client of hers for almost two years now, I truly appreciate her dedication, flexibility and of course, personality. The salon that she works from is lovely and is in downtown Fenwick. Although my appointments are usually simple (a quick blow-out) her skills are off the charts, you definitely need to check her out.

Favourite Recreational Activity

Running
If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll have seen my favourite running route is in the heart of town. Running is such a great way to get out and enjoy the outdoors and stay active. Fonthill truly offers the best trails and scenery to enjoy along the way! I would highly recommend checking out the Steve Bauer trail – keep your eyes open for bunnies, foxes, squirrels and birds!

With so much to offer, it’s easy to see why many people are proud to lay the roots for their family here. If you already enjoy what Fonthill has to offer, I want to hear about it! What are your favourite restaurants or outdoor activities in Fonthill? Have you tried out any of my honourable mentions or become familiar with the trails? I’d love to hear some of your recommendations!
